New York Yankees at Houston Astros MLB Pick – October 12th

It has looked like tonights American League Championship Series has been unavoidable. The Houston Astros and the New York Yankees have been the top two teams from the league all year long and seeing those two matchup with a trip to the World Series on the line was always likely to take place. Now the question comes, who wins tonight? And who wins the series?
Themselves are found by the Yankees at the ALCS after winning 103 games in the regular season and carrying home the American League East Division title. They won their division and then coasted in the match healthy and rested for the first time all season long. That the Yankees struck on the home runs with a group with 22, despite being destroyed by injuries much of the year. New York made quick work of the Minnesota Twins from the ALDS, crossing the Twins in three matches, and beating them to get runs.
For Houston, the Astros led the American League won the American League West Division title with a whopping ten games over the Oakland Athletics and in wins this year. The Astros did have some trouble from the ALDS though with the Rays, because series went the full five games. Houston needed to deal with a grueling five-game series against the Rays that are plucky Even though the Yankees were home resting.
Beginning for the Astros tonight in game is Zack Greinke (0-1 14.73 ERA), and for the Yankees it is Masahiro Tanaka (1-0 1.80 ERA). The game is set in runs. The Astros have been -154 home favorites. First pitch is scheduled for 5:08 PM PST from Minute Maid Park in Houston.
They did so with using a joint 120 games from sluggers Aaron Judge along with Giancarlo Stanton Though the Yankees came one home run short of this all time record this season. Both of those guys have home run power, and had been healthy all season long, the Yankees could have finished with the greatest total. Thus, it is not much of an overstatement to say that this is actually the hardest-hitting team in baseball history.
They completely ruined them, and paired up with the Twins, who finished the period at the ALDS ever, with the most homers. To me, that place to rest the argument of that team really had most power. New York is healthful, and these few days of remainder are enormous for them. Not many individuals are providing much of a shooter in this series to New York, but I believe the Yankees are likely to discover a way to make this show.
Masahiro Tanaka is the most consistent guy on the mound. However, when he is on his game, hes as good as any man in the American League. He goes outside and completely shuts down a team as a Gerrit Cole or a Justin Verlander, however he could get you seven or more innings of work that is great. Six times this year, hes pitched seven innings or more and let one run or not. There just arent that many guys that can throw a stat line and Tanaka is among them.
Against the Twins, a whole seven days past, he was quite powerful as he held that the hard-hitting Twins strong lineup to just 1 run on just 3 hits while striking out seven. And pitches were only thrown by him. In his last start of the season, the Yankees kept him fresh as he threw just pitches .
As can be tonight, tanaka is comfortable and hes completely capable if they want him to go within the match. In two begins this season, Tanaka has been very good against Houston. He tossed a combined twelve innings and allowed only three runs, great to get a 2.25 ERA. The Astros hit only .244 from him as a group.
Houston will turn to the newly acquired Zack Greinke to start this chain off . Greinke was brought in to win them games from the playoffs. But Greinke hasnt been very consistent in his time with Houston as he has allowed four earned runs or even five times in twenty five starts for Houston. While hes been largely great, he has not been on the level which Verlander and Cloe were, also fits in as a number three man, together using number three kind amounts, not actually the third genius they were hoping theyre getting when they traded to them in the trade deadline earlier this season.
I smell upset tonight! I know, I understand , the Astros are essentially unbeatable at home but hear me out. Zack Greinke has not been very good for Houston, and against the Rays, at the ALDS, he had been awful in what might have been an elimination game had he won. In that match, Greinke lasted just three and also two-thirds of an inning and got blasted for six earned runs, including three home runs. That was Rays team that finished 21st in home runs in the majors. This Yankees team has much more power, and you have to wonder just how great Greinke is going to be tonight against one of the finest lineups in baseball history.
And when you look at Tanaka, love him or hate him, this man was great from the playoffs in his career. In six career postseason starts, Tanaka comes with an ERA of just 1.54. I believe he sees out a way to slow down whats to be a weary Houston staff tonight. I bet hes far better than Greinke, although I really dont think that he shuts them completly down.
When you look at the purchase cost, it is hard not to enjoy getting a bunch of dog cash to back a team as gifted and well-rested since the Yankees are at the moment. So, I will rear tonight to the Yankees in the highway since underdogs in game one at +144!
